Mamelodi Sundowns host USM Alger in Sunday’s 2026 CAF Super Cup showpiece at Loftus Versfeld Stadium, targeting a second continental crown to cement their elite status.
Kick-off is at 15:00 CAT.
CURRENT FORM
The South African giants enter the fixture on the heels of a 1-0 win over Golden Arrows in the Carling Knockout Cup on November 3, stretching their formidable unbeaten streak to 14 matches across all competitions.
Intent on capturing the Super Cup for the first time since their 2017 triumph over TP Mazembe, Sundowns will be resolute in their quest to secure victory on home soil and claim their second title in the competition.
Alger, by contrast, arrive carrying strong momentum of their own following a 2-0 victory over CS Constantine on October 31, extending their undefeated run to five matches across all competitions.
Currently aiming to replicate their 2023 victory over Al Ahly, the Algerian heavyweights will be desperate to outmaneuver their hosts and hoist the prestigious trophy for a second time.
TEAM NEWS
Coach Miguel Cardoso continues to carefully manage the Mamelodi Sundowns squad fitness, though Ronwen Williams and Teboho Mokoena have returned to training and could feature.
However, the Tshwane giants are still contending with defensive and midfield injuries to Khuliso Mudau, Grant Kekana, Keanu Cupido, and Kegan Johannes.

Coach Lamine N'Diaye, on the other hand, must adapt USM Alger as Houssam Ghacha continues to receive treatment for a persistent issue that has kept him out of major travel fixtures.
Meanwhile, Mohamed El Amine Ramdaoui is expected to shrug off his minor injury and start, while Dhirar Bensaadallah has returned to full training after recovering from an ankle sprain.
WHAT WAS SAID?
Mamelodi Sundowns Head Coach Miguel Cardoso
“Let's see, lots of work has been done on him (Teboho Mokoena), you saw him smiling today with the team and dancing there on the pitch," Cardoso told reporters.
"I think his mood is okay, his capacity to play, let's see because that's a long process there. Let's see how he can come back or when he can come back, ofcourse, that's a worry that we have because we need to protect him."
USM Alger Head Coach Lamine N'Diaye
"We are leaving a bit earlier so we can be in a quiet environment and focus entirely on preparing for this match. We will have all the time we need to make any necessary adjustments before taking on this challenge," N'Diaye said on Planetesport.dz.
“Our opponent needs no introduction—they are the best team in Africa—but we will not arrive in Pretoria playing the role of the victim. On the contrary, we will fight for our chances with everything we have. We will give our all and aim to show that we, too, have the ability to challenge any opponent.”
PLAYERS TO WATCH:
