With another instalment of the Motsepe Foundation Championship on the horizon, Cape Town City are in line to extend their impressive winning streak on Saturday, while the likes of Venda Football Academy and Orbit College remain in search of their first league victory.
The Citizens currently find themselves in first position on the log after accumulating 20 points from nine games. With only one loss to their name, City gathered six wins this season, four of which came in their last four matches.
Following a 1-0 win against Magesi last time out, City will travel to Upington City this weekend, with the latter hoping to get back to winning ways following their 0-0 draw with Hungry Lions during matchday nine.
At the bottom end of the table, Venda will head into their match against The Bees sitting in 16th position after taking just two points from nine games.
Apart from noting a 0-0 draw with Orbit College in their last fixture, Venda also have seven losses to their name this season with four of those defeats taking place in their previous handful of ties.
Orbit College will likewise seek for their first win of the campaign when they take on Magesi away this Saturday. Sitting in 15th position on four points, Orbit recorded four draws and five losses this season and are two points from safety.
As for Orbit’s opponents, second-placed Magesi are hoping to overcome their recent 1-0 defeat against City when they shake hands with Orbit College on home soil this Saturday.
Magesi thus suffered their first defeat in the league last time out, a result that paved the way for City to go top. With six wins, two draws and one loss in nine games, Magesi currently find themselves level on points with City (20), while the top two teams share the same goal difference tally (+7)
