Saudi Arabia have lost only one of their five FIFA World Cup matches against African opposition (W2 D2) – a 1-0 defeat against Cameroon in 2002. Cabo Verde will be their sixth different CAF opponent at the World Cup after Morocco, South Africa, Cameroon, Tunisia and Egypt.
