Olympic champion Caster Semenya is confirmed to compete in the Cape Town SPAR Women’s 10km Challenge, the opening race of the 2026 SPAR Grand Prix Series, on Sunday.
The Limpopo-born last competed in the 5000m at the 2022 World Championships in Eugene, Oregon, USA.
Semenya has been barred from competing in her preferred events (400m) since 2019, due to World Athletics’ testosterone‑regulation rules, which she refuses to comply with.
Her shift to the 5000m was an attempt to stay active in competition without hormone‑suppression requirements.
By October 2025, Semenya ended her legal fight, effectively signaling the end of her competitive career.
