Owen Farrell has been crowned 2017's Anthony Foley Memorial Trophy winner after he was named European Player of the Year.

Farrell, who helped lead Saracens to the Champions Cup title with a victory over Clermont, received the award at Murrayfield on Saturday.

"To get to a final again is special but you have to build on what you did last year, not just do what you're doing," Farrell told Sky Sports.

"To put in a performance like we did today was pleasing."

Following the 28-17 victory over their French opponents, Farrell added: "To build on what he did last year and be as composed as we were was also pleasing. To be so focussed was what we were all about today."
