Three-time MotoGP champion Jorge Lorenzo wants to reset his season at Austin’s Circuit of The Americas and start his Ducati career afresh following a disappointing start to the calendar.
Lorenzo said he hopes, “my championship will start in Austin.”
"Qatar was a disaster, I was lucky to finish eleventh, because of a lot of crashes. And in Argentina, my race didn't exist," said Lorenzo, who crashed out after he hit the back of Andrea Iannone at the first turn at Termas de Rio Hondo.
"There is no time to complain about what happened. Although the results are not in our favour, I think we have found the way to improve, but for one reason or another we have not yet been able to demonstrate this in dry conditions.”
Ducati has secured podium finishes in the last three years at Austin (Iannone took third last year), which Lorenzo said gives him hope that he can break Marc Marquez and Honda’s dominance in America.
“Austin is a beautiful circuit, where I have not yet managed to win, but where Ducati, for example, has been on the podium for the past three years," said Lorenzo.
"It is a good place to test ourselves. In the team we are positive, we are all working hard and I am convinced that soon we will change this bad stretch."
