Forest Rangers coach Perry Mutapa is resigned to losing striker Felix Nyaende who is reportedly on the verge of joining defending Faz Super League champions Zanaco.
Nyaende has missed Forest’s opening two league games away, at Lumwana Radiants that they lost 1-0 away, on April 8 and Sundays 1-1 home draw against promoted Real Nakonde.
“Felix was in our plans before the season kicked-off last week but, he was nowhere to be seen for the Lumwana game,” Forest coach Perry Mutapa said.
“I hear he is with Zanaco but, that is for management to sort out.”
Zanaco have struggled in the strikers department in 2017, following the mass departure of key players, including striker Fashion Sakala to Spartak Moscow in Russia plus midfielders Roderick Kabwe and Isaac Chansa to South Africa and Iraq respectively.
Should Nyaende sign with Zanaco, he will be a valuable asset especially in the 2017 Caf Champions League group stage that kicks off in May.
Zanaco scored just two goals in four knockout stage games en route, to securing their group stage slot.
Nyaende finished fourth on the 2016 top scorers charts with 11 goals, 12 behind golden boot winner Walter Bwalya of Nkana.
Zesco United’s Jesse Were and Patson Daka at Power Dynamos finished on 15 and 12 goals respectively.
