Kamohelo Mokotjo looks set to miss FC Twente’s week-long camp in Spain with “paperwork” problems, his club has confirmed.

Mokotjo is still in South Africa after the festive season break and missed the first day of Twente’s Spanish camp on Wednesday.

And the Dutch side say they do not know if he will be able to travel at all as he struggled with paperwork.

“Kamohelo Mokotjo has problems with his travel documents. Therefore he is still in South Africa,” the club said. “It is currently unclear whether he would be able to play in Spain this week.”

Mokoto is a mainstay of the Twente side and one of their most experienced campaigners. He has also consistently been among the top performing midfielders in the Dutch league over the last few seasons.

He is certainly not the first South African to fall foul of paperwork issues.

Just recently Bafana Bafana winger Ayanda Patosi saw his return to Belgium from national team duty with South Africa delayed.

Lebogang Phiri also missed a camp in Dubai for his Danish club Brondby in 2014 with similar issues.
