SuperSport are aiming to overturn a one-goal deficit when they host Al Ahly Shendi in the second leg of their Caf Confederation Cup tie at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Sunday.

Kick-off is at 6pm.

The Sudanese outfit secured a 3-2 win in the first leg against a second-string Matsatsantsa, which ended an 10-game unbeaten run for Stuart Baxter's side.

The two away goals scored by Mario Booysen and Jeremy Brockie could go a long way to ensuring the Premiership club's progression to the next round of the competition.

SuperSport returned to winning ways after the Caf loss to Shendi with a hard-fought 2-1 victory against second-tier outfit Royal Eagles in the Nedbank Cup last 32.

The English coach highlighted the importance of the cup win against Eagles in preparation for the Shendi encounter.

"They play 4-4-2, possession-based football, with two quick players, but they also whack it over the top," Baxter said.

"They won't be easy opponents, but this (Nedbank Cup) game was good preparation because Eagles also play a possession game.

"I think the league is getting stronger. Tactically we can handle the north Africans."

The hosts will be without the services of defender Booysen, who joins Cole Alexander and Bradley Grobler on the treatment table after sustaining a suspected broken toe against Royal Eagles.
